Session 1: Effective, efficient grading and feedback

How can we grade student work accurately, reliably, and efficiently? Moreover, how do we give our students feedback that will maximize their learning? In this workshop, we will identify strategies for effective, efficient grading. We will also identify characteristics of useful feedback, and we’ll use those principles to practice both giving feedback on sample student work and analyzing sample TA feedback. Finally, we will unpack methods for handling student complaints and disagreements surrounding grading.
