Auditions for Shockheaded Peter
Start Date: 9/4/2014Start Time: 6:00 PM

Event Description:
Company One Theatre is seeking actors to be part of the Shockheaded Peter ensemble for the March 6 - April 4 production at the Modern Theatre at Suffolk University.

Auditions will be held at the Modern Theatre on Thursday, September 4 starting at 6:00 PM. Sign up for a 10 minute slot on the Theatre Department Call Board in the Studio Theatre (4th Floor, Archer Building).

Actors should prepare a one minute classical monologue that utilizes heightened theatricality and showcases their vocal facilities. Company One is interested in seeing all races, genders, and body types and will be casting a diverse group of actors. Please arrive a few minutes early to fill out an audition form and remember to bring a physical copy of your headshot and resume.

A bit more about Shockheaded Peter:
A hallucinatory event in the style of Victorian peep show melodramas where child's play, the spoofing of horror shows, and a sinister calculated creakiness, calls in to question our repressed impulses in socializing children for appearances' shake. Directed by Steven Bogart, Company One Theatre is producing Shockheaded Peter in collaboration with Walter Sickert & the Army of Broken Toys and Suffolk University.
An exploratory workshop will be held from November 18 - December 20. Rehearsals will start up again on February 2. Shockheaded Peter will run from March 6 - April 4 at the Modern Theatre, with performances on Wednesday - Sunday.
Company One Theatre is seeking actors to be part of the Shockheaded Peter ensemble. The ensemble needs to be made up of actors with some puppetry, improvisation, and physical theater/movement experience, as well as the ability to embody a melodramatic expressionistic physical acting style with a penchant for the dark and twisted.
Company One's mission is to change the face of Boston theatre by uniting the city's diverse communities through innovation, socially provocative performance, and the development of civically engaged artists. We value community engagement, collective decision making, transparent communication, and mentorship.
