All Day Online Course Design Institute
Faculty are invited to participate in the 4-week Online Course Design Institute. The OCDI is recommended for faculty who are preparing to teach an online course, interested in learning about developing an online course, or who may already be teaching an online course but would like to incorporate some additional online teaching and learning strategies. This interactive, online workshop has been redesigned to align with the research-based Quality Matters rubric. The OCDI runs Sep 18 - Oct 13.

5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Race, Racism, and Privilege
Participants will learn about the concepts of race, racism, and privilege. We will expand participants’ definitions of race and racism beyond Black vs. White by challenging the social construction of race and ethnicity and exploring how certain groups of immigrants “became white.” 

Participants also 
will discuss how racism and privilege manifest in society through concepts such as internalized racism, horizontal racism, white privilege, and white guilt.
 
5:30 PM - 6:30 PM Cooking 101: Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

Cooking 101 is an interactive class taught by Suffolk University’s Dining Services (Sodexo). Students learn how to prepare a variety of dishes using fresh ingredients with easy-to-follow directions.

This interactive class allows students to see how foods are prepared, ask questions, and enjoy the dishes.
