12:00 AM Online Course Design Institute
Faculty are invited to participate in the 4-week Online Course Design Institute. The OCDI is recommended for faculty who are preparing to teach an online course, interested in learning about developing an online course, or who may already be teaching an online course but would like to incorporate some additional online teaching and learning strategies. This interactive, online workshop has been redesigned to align with the research-based Quality Matters rubric. The OCDI runs Sep 18 - Oct 13.

12:00 PM - 1:30 PM Session 3: Undergrad TAP Training
A major part of a TA’s role is to teach students, whether leading a review session for an entire class, helping small groups of students, or working with a student one-on-one during office hours. We will address effective teaching strategies in all of these contexts, particularly by exploring the benefits of encouraging students to be active in their learning. We’ll also discuss how to provide constructive, useful feedback to students.

Location: CAS Dean's Conference Room (Room 1259 on the 12th floor of 73 Tremont)

12:15 PM - 1:30 PM Intro to Diversity and Social Justice
Expand your notion of the categories that we typically think of as "diverse" and join us in examining how people learn ideas and beliefs about those who may be different from themselves. 

This workshop will provide an introduction to social justice, power, privilege, oppression, access, and intersectionality and discuss how these play out in current events.

Participants also 
will learn about the intersections of race, class, ability, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, and many other social identities, as well as how to act in allyship around identities to which they do not belong.

This boot camp series is designed to get your conversation muscles in tip-top shape. Each workshop breaks down an important piece of interpersonal and professional communication and provides tips and tricks for your success. 

Let’s stretch and get our communication muscles warmed up in this first workshop, which focuses on preparing for a public speaking event and managing nerves around communication.

12:30 PM - 1:30 PM We Dream Exhibit: Exquisite Corpse Drawing Game
The Exquisite Corpse Drawing Game, through which a group of images will be collectively assembled, is offered in conjunction with the We Dream exhibit. 

In the game of Exquisite Corpse, also known as exquisite cadaver (from the original French term cadavre exquis) or rotating corpse, each collaborator adds to a composition in sequence, either by following a rule or by being allowed to see only the very end from the previous contributor. Join in for a fun way to create a drawing.

The activity is organized by Gallery Ambassador Shelby Feltoon. Pizza will be available.

Join us for the final leg of the Dear World event on our campus. 

Were you inspired by what you heard at the Storytelling Event? Perhaps you were unable to join us for the first photo shoot opportunity.

From 2 pm - 4 pm there will be a final Open Photo-shoot in the Student Activities Center on the 3rd Floor of the Sawyer Building.

Have questions about anything under the sun related to LGBTQ+ identity? Want to share and learn about people's experiences dating, their coming out story, or frustrations as a queer person?

The LGBTQ+ Support Group provides LGBTQ-identified and questioning students a safe place to discuss topics relevant to our experiences and identities.  

The Support Group meets bi-weekly during the Fall and Spring semester and discussion topics will be announced before each meeting.
