8:00 AM - 8:00 PM Suffolk Service Challenge
Suffolk Service Challenge (September 16 – September 30) 

Start the year with the Suffolk Service Challenge by participating in a series of volunteer projects and other fun events. Participants will receive a t-shirt and a chance to win fabulous prizes.

To join the Suffolk Service Challenge please complete the online registration form or contact the Center for Community Engagement (CCE). After you have registered, stop by the CCE in Donahue 209 to pick up your t-shirt. 

Participants must register on SUconnect for each CCE event that they plan to attend and will receive points for each event that is attended.  The three students who have earned the highest number of points at the end of the Challenge will be eligible to win 2 tickets to a Bruins hockey game, an MBTA LinkPass or a Hubway 1-year membership.

On Thursday, October 1, there will be a luncheon from 1-2 to celebrate all that has been accomplished during the Service Challenge!                
9:00 AM - 11:00 AM Coffee Hour
Stop by the Office of Diversity Services for Coffee Hour on Thursday morning between the hours of 9:00 - 11:00 am. Enjoy free bagels, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate!

We are located in Archer 481, which can be accessed from the stairwell of the Donahue Building.
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Alternative Spring Break (ASB) Information Session

Are you interested in joining fellow Suffolk students for a week of service during your spring break? Over one hundred students will have the opportunity to travel to various locations across the United States to volunteer in communities of need. Attend an information session to learn more about the trips and how to apply.

An online learning portfolio is an effective tool for students to reflect on their college career, to showcase their best work to prospective employers, and to market their skills and experiences when pursuing employment opportunities.  This workshop will show (1) how a digital learning portfolio is created in a senior capstone class for Media Studies majors; (2) how students can build their professional identity and communicative style through portfolio creation; and (3) how to select an appropriate digital portfolio platform.  We welcome faculty members from all disciplines to attend!  (Sample portfolios can be viewed at:

5:30 PM - 8:00 PM Prison Book Program

Join us for an evening of service at the Prison Book Program in Quincy to help promote education and literacy for prisoners. Read letters from prisoners and sort and package books to be sent to them. Volunteers meet at the Center for Community Engagement, Donahue 209, at 5:30 and travel together to Quincy. This is a weekly opportunity limited to the first 6 volunteers who R.S.V.P. through SUconnect.
