CUES Lecture Series: Todd Callaghan

Event Description:
Todd Callaghan, a marine Scientist for the Massachusetts Office of Coastal Zone Management, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ lead agency for balancing coastal development and environmental protection, will speak about his educational background, job history, and the cool current projects he is working on!.

Dr. Callaghan’s work involves using high-definition videos, underwater sonar, and grab samples to map the seafloor; observing spatial patterns in long-term fisheries data; mapping important habitat for whales, seabirds, and sea grasses; designing studies to evaluate the environmental impacts of power plants, desalination plants, and wastewater facilities; and working with the offshore wind industry to responsibly site and build the next generation of energy facilities in New England.

Pizza and drinks will be provided.
