The Elephant in the Room: Exploring the Role of Identity, Diversity and Injustice in the Law
Start Date: 4/30/2015Start Time: 12:00 PM
End Date: 4/30/2015End Time: 1:30 PM

Event Description:

12:00pm-1:30pm | Faculty Dining Room

The Elephant in the Room: Exploring the role of identity, diversity and injustice in the legal classroom. The Suffolk University Law School community is invited to engage in a discussion of the role of identity, diversity and injustice in the law. As law students, we learn the facts of a case, identify the issue, and apply the rule. But how, for example, do we come to terms with a final judgment that furthered injustice?

Please join a panel of Professors (Professors Shin, Cooper, Perlman, and Curtin) in exploring these important subtexts in legal opinions that are often not discussed explicitly in courses. The panel will be moderated by Professor Karmely. Light food will be provided.

Brought to you by the SBA Diversity & Inclusion Committee in partnership the Progress to Success Peer Mentorship Program.
