Designing and Teaching Online Courses (DTOC) Mini Institutes

Facilitator: Linda Bruenjes, Technology Innovation for Learning and Teaching, Associate Director, CTSE

Are you new to teaching online?  Have you taught online in the past but want to learn more about particular online teaching strategies?  Do you want to join a group of online educators to discuss or learn how to use tools that enhance the online learning experience?  Are you interested in learning how to spend more time supporting learning and less time on repetitive activities?  Have you kept up with the evolving pedagogy of teaching online?  If you can answer YES to any of these questions, we invite you to sign up for this series of mini-institutes. Faculty and staff are invited to sign up for the entire series, one in the series, or a select few to which you can commit the time.  Each mini-institute will be one week in length. All institutes will be held online. Participants will be given instructions prior to the start date.

April 25 – May 1

DTOC-MI #6 (Formerly OCD-MI #6): Creating Online Learning Modules

Create an online course blueprint that is accessible to all students.

Learning Objectives:  In this mini-institute, participants will:

  • Develop an online course blueprint
  • Create an online learning unit
  • Develop a learning guide
  • Plan UDL (accessible) online activities

 Tickets can only be purchased through your Suffolk Ram Card. All sales are final! One ticket per senior, tickets cannot be purchased for other seniors/guests.

12:00 PM - 4:00 PM Social Justice Series: Mad Max - Fury Road Film Screening
Join the Office of Diversity Services for a screening and discussion of Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) starring CharlizeTheron and Tom Hardy

Food and drinks will be provided!

The Interfaith Center and IDA are bringing a meditation session to NESAD! Please bring a yoga mat or beach towel with you to sit on.Cookies and tea will be served during the event as a refreshment. At the end of the event, we will be raffling off a tin of DavidsTea for those who attended!Finals are a stressful time - this event was created to help alleviate some of that stress by giving students an hour to focus on their physical and mental well-being. This event is open to everyone and we encourage you to join us if you want to take a break from your work to relax without having to leave NESAD.
