All Day Fall 2018 FPLC Facilitator Application Due
Faculty and Professional Learning Communities provide the support and motivation for members of the Suffolk community to research recent pedagogical and curricular trends, to implement these and other new teaching strategies in the learning environment, and to measure the impact of these new strategies on student learning. FPLC facilitators are chosen from an applicant pool of Suffolk University faculty, staff and administrative professionals who are interested in taking on a leadership role to facilitate interdisciplinary cross-University learning communities. Criteria for selection include: a topic that addresses a special campus or divisional teaching and learning need, issue, or opportunity; a commitment to an active, collaborative, yearlong program with the objective of enhancing teaching and learning;  an openness to new ideas, and a willingness to share findings with the larger University community. Please keep these criteria in mind as you complete the application materials.

Apply here.
All Day First day of Ridvan
Ridvan is a 12-day Baha’i festival, one of the holiest celebrations in the Baha’i calendar.
"Ridván" means paradise, and is named for the Garden of Ridván outside Baghdad, where Bahá'u'lláh stayed for twelve days after the Ottoman Empire exiled him from the city and before commencing his journey to Constantinople.
The festival starts at two hours before sunset on the first day, and major celebrations also occur on the ninth and twelfth days. On those days, work is prohibited and usually observed with a community gathering where prayers are shared.
