The Land of Many Palaces

Event Description:
Documentary film maker Adam Smith will screen his film "The Land of Many Palaces.” This is about the development of a new city in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, where farmers are being uprooted from their traditional way of life and moved into the newly created cities.  The film was made in collaboration with Song Ting, and a variety of sponsors such as Stanford, Sundance, CNEX. Q&A with Adam Smith following the screening.  

Free and open to the Public. Co-sponsored by the Department of Communication and Journalism, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the Rosenberg Institute for East Asian Studies.
