All Day Annual NESAD Illustration Student Show (Multi-Day Event)
The New England School of Art and Design is hosting its annual 'Illustration Student Show' showcasing works and illustrations of NESAD students. Exhibit will be on display March 29-April 9.

Special events on Thursday, April 2nd include:
1:00-3:00 PM  Visiting artists Chris Short, Andy Fish, John S. Dykes, Dave Gordon and James Steinberg will present their work and talk about their professional experience.  They juried the work and will select award winners. Location: NESAD, Room 259 

5:00-8:00 PM Reception, with an awards presentation at 6 PM

All Day Online Course Design Institute

The CTSE has developed an Online Course Design Institute that offers a coherent, holistic approach to online course design.  This series presents specific tools, ideas, strategies, and theories as part of larger processes related to teaching, scholarship, and learning. This Institute is flexible, rigorous, and relevant for faculty professional development in online course design and delivery.

The Online Course Design Institute meets online both synchronously and asynchronously from April 1 to May 6.

Topics Include:

  • Fundamentals of Online Teaching & Learning
  • Online Course Mapping
  • Creating Societal Presence in Online Courses
  • Designing Online Assessments
  • Implementing Your Online Course
  • Evaluating Your Online Course

Start Day SAAM: Clothing Drive for Rosie's Place, A Women's Shelter (Multi-Day Event)

Sexual Assault Awareness Month clothing drive to benefit Rosie's Place! Visit facebook.com/SuffolkUniversitySUPERs to find out what is needed and drop them off at the Student Wellness Resource Center, Diversity Services, the Center for Community Engagement, the Interfaith Center, at your residence hall, or the Law School.

Start Day SAAM: Consent Quilt Tabling (Multi-Day Event)

Visit tables in 73 Tremont, Donahue and Sawyer Lobbies to create your part of the consent quilt, then visit the constructed quilts around campus throughout the month of April. At the tables we will also have information about consent and sexual misconduct. Co-sponsored by Greek Council.

12:00 AM Law School Application Priority Deadline
Priority deadline for submitting applications for admission in fall 2015. Applications received after April 1 will be considered in the order received until the class is full. 
9:00 AM - 7:00 PM "Chiang Yee: The Silent Traveller from the East"
The Adams Gallery at Suffolk University presents artwork from an exiled 20th century Chinese artist-author in the exhibit Chiang Yee: The Silent Traveller from the East. The exhibit is focused on illustrations from Chiang Yee’s 1959 travel book about Boston.

The exhibit features original Chiang Yee drawings and watercolors, reproductions of illustrations from his Silent Traveller book on Boston from the Boston Athenaeum’s collection, and photographs of the artist-author.

The exhibit was inspired by English Professor Da Zheng's book about Chiang Yee.

Large firms will be recruiting for their 2016 summer associate classes during the summer and fall of 2015. If you plan on participating in Suffolk’s large firm on-campus interviewing (OCI) program, the firms require that all candidates attend an information session to learn more about their hiring criteria and process.

Associate Professor of Strategy and International Business Dr. C. Gopinath will speak on India and International Education: A Case Study of a New Multidisciplinary Global University Operating Under Restrictive Regulations. Professor Gopinath is interested in global markets, which includes the educational market, and will present his insights during this event.  Free and open to the public. Sponsored by the Rosenberg Institute for East Asian Studies, in co-operation with the Department of Economics.
