Trainings offered by the Office of Diversity Services focus on understanding the identities and experiences of marginalized students. We focus on students of color, the LGBTQ+ community, and the development of ally practices. These trainings are available to faculty, staff, and students and can be customized to suit the needs of a department, organization, division, or group. Each semester, our office offers several "open" trainings to the entire campus community. Please register to ensure your seat in the training.

Safe Zone focuses on increasing awareness and educating participants on key issues impacting the LGBTQ+ community, LGBTQ+ vocabulary, queerphobia, privilege, heterosexism, cissexism, and allyship best practices. This Safe Zone will focus on the intersection of race, ethnicity gender identity/expression and sexual orientation in the lives of Queer People of Color. Participants will expand their understanding of the unique challenges this community faces and will develop skills in how to be an ally across difference.
