Online CDI (Course Design Institute)
Are you interested in designing an online, hybrid or technology-enhanced course?  If so, enroll in the 4-week Online CDI. The Online CDI is recommended for faculty who are preparing to teach a fully or partially online course, who are interested in learning about developing such a course, or who may already be teaching an online, hybrid or technology-enhanced course but would like to incorporate some additional research-based teaching and learning strategies. This interactive, online workshop has been designed to align with the Quality Matters rubric.  For more information, contact ctse@suffolk.edu.

The senior Illustration show features the work of Illustration seniors Caela Chau, Sylvan Huynh, and Jacqueline Mancini.  Their work exemplifies the creative process and inventive thinking, and represents the best ideas used in Illustration.  The art of Illustration remains strong and this program instills fundamental visual communication skills, conceptual thinking, and proficiency in creativity and technical skills.

3:05 PM - 5:00 PM Screening of the Award-winning film- gook
Join the Public Policy and Practice Hub, Suffolk Cinema Series, Sociology Department, the Rosenberg Institute, and the Asian Studies Program for a screening of gook. 

Written and directed by Justin Chon, 
gook is a powerful film exploring families and relationships between Korean and African American communities set during the violent Los Angeles race riots in March 1991. gook was the winner of the NEXT Audience Award at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. 

A short discussion will follow the film screening. Refreshments will be served.

Laura van den Berg is the author of the novel The Third Hotel, forthcoming from Farrar, Straus and Giroux in August 2018. Her two short story collections, The Isle of Youth and What the World Will Look Like When All the Water Leaves Us, were both shortlisted for the Frank O’Connor International Short Story Award, and her novel Find Me was selected as a “Best Book of 2015” by NPR, Time Out New York, and BuzzFeed and longlisted for the 2016 International Dylan Thomas Prize.
