Event Description A panel discussion sponsored by the Government Department.
Join panelists former Ambassador Friedrich Löhr (Perspectives from the center - Germany) and Vice Provost Sebastían Royo (Perspectives from the periphery - Spain) for a discussion that will draw on our understanding of regionalism with the focus on the European process. We'll be using theoretical and historical perspectives to understand the impact of the crisis on Europe today and to attempt to predict the potential trajectories of the Union. Specifically, we'll talk about Spain and Germany's historical experience with integration (politically, culturally, and economically) and what these unique experiences suggest about the possibility of pursuing reforms that today are politically unpalatable.
Sponsored by the Government Department.
