The Multicultural Summit is a day-long interactive forum for students, staff, and faculty to explore aspects of diversity and multiculturalism. The workshop will be facilitated by Dr. Becky Martinez, a consultant of the Infinity Consulting Group. She’s a social justice trainer and her work focuses on dismantling systems of oppression.

The registration is free and open to the Suffolk community, catering and t-shirts are provided too. Attached is the form and is due by Thursday, February 21th in the Office of Diversity Services. For additional information and to learn more about the 2013 Social Justice Education Series, please contact us. 

9:15 AM - 12:00 PM Cradles to Crayons
Cradles to Crayons was founded with the mission of providing some of the most important basics of life, free of charge, to children ages 0 to 12. Volunteers will work at the Giving Factory and help inspect incoming books, match outfits, sort and test toys, stuff backpacks, or fill orders that meet the needs of children. Volunteers will meet at 9:15 in the Donahue Lobby and travel to the site together. This volunteer opportunity is limited to the first 20 students who R.S.V.P. through SUconnect.

Donate your Saturday to volunteer at Casa Nueva Vida, a home that houses almost 50 people and aims to permanently pull families out of poverty. Volunteers will help with the house's weekly Saturday chores, such as assisting the families clean their 16-room house. Students will meet in the Donahue Lobby and travel to the site together. This opportunity is open to the first 12 students who register through SUconnect.
3:00 PM The Last Will
The Last Will is the final installment of Suffolk University's Distinguished Scholar in Residence Robert Brustein's trilogy about the life of William Shakespeare presented in collaboration with Commonwealth Shakespeare Company.

The Last Will finds William Shakespeare retired at his country home on Stratford after decades of struggle and success in the city of London. In the last stages of a fatal illness, his deteriorating mind obliterates the distinction between fiction and fact, and the playwright begins acting as a character in his own plays. Richard Burbage, leader of Shakespeare's acting company, attempts to persuade him to return to London and to playwriting, as Will wrestles with his suspicions, delusions, family resentments, his longing for forgiveness, and final testaments.

Tickets: $45 on opening and Saturday nights; $40 general; $30 seniors; and $10 students. Click here or call 800-440-7654.
