Mastering the Case Job Interview
Start Date: 2/18/2016Start Time: 7:30 AM
End Date: 2/18/2016End Time: 9:00 AM

Event Description:

Particularly popular in management consulting and investment banking, the case interview method has been adopted by other types of firms to assess a candidate “in action.”  You are introduced to a business dilemma facing a company. You are then asked to analyze the situation, identify key business issues, and discuss how you would address the problems involved.

Case interviews are designed to assess that are important to the workplace:  quantitative skills, analytical skills, problem-solving ability, communications skills, creativity, flexibility, the ability to think quickly under pressure, listening skills, business acumen, keen insight, interpersonal skills, the ability to synthesize findings, professional demeanor, and powers of persuasion.

This workshop will introduce participants to the unique skills and approach required to be successful in case interviews.  Topics covered will include:

  • Why case interviews are used
  • Types of questions to expect
  • Role and responsibilities of the interviewee
  • Case interview in four distinct stages
  • Select frameworks for analysis (Profitability Framework, Business Analysis Framework)
  • Live case analysis
  • Resources and practice
