Tested: Film Screening and Q&A with Writer/Director Curtis Chin

Event Description:
Nabbing a spot in one of NYC's best public high schools can change kids' lives - but who gets in? 

Tested, which follows a diverse group of students hoping to ace a single admissions test, explores such important issues as equal access, stereotypes, affirmative action, and the model minority myth. A Q&A with Writer/Director Curtis Chin will follow the documentary screening. 

The screening will take place in Somerset B18. This event is sponsored by the Center for Academic Access & Opportunity and Education Studies. 


Director Curtis Chen is a graduate of the University of Michigan and has won awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York Foundation for the Arts, and the San Diego Asian American Film Foundation. He has personally spoken at over 400 universities and non-profits in the U.S. and abroad and appeared on MSNBC, CNN, and NPR, and in Newsweek and other media outlets.
