9:00 AM - 7:00 PM "The Mirror of Race: Seeing Ourselves through History"

The Adams Gallery at Suffolk University presents The Mirror of Race: Seeing Ourselves through History, a photography exhibit that challenges viewers to think about what they see when they look into this mirror onto an earlier time. Interactive elements suggest reflection about how one sees race – in oneself and in others.

The exhibit includes daguerreotypes, tintypes, ambrotypes and other forms of early photography as well as prints from tintypes made by an Air National Guardsman deployed to Afghanistan. Ed Drew’s modern-day tintypes are believed to be the first battle zone photographs using this method since the American Civil War.

Moot Court Rooms, 4th floor

Reception

Sargent Hall, Function Room, 1st flor

Before we gather, 28 high school students will argue the merits of a Fifth Amendment issue in a moot court competition. The reception will feature remarks from Dean Camille Nelson, an announcement of the four winners of the competition, and will also serve as a great networking opportunity for those who are connected to or interested in the Project. Established in 2010, the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project connects Suffolk Law students with Boston-area high school students, empowering them to be responsible citizens and active participants in the democratic process.
