9:00 AM Circle Practices for Schools: A 2-Day Workshop (Multi-Day Event)
This program is designed for teachers and staff interested in using circles to:

---foster better relationships between adults and students and among peers
---improve classroom and school climate
---develop emotional awareness and communication skills
---enhance learning

This two-day workshop provides models and templates, a toolbox of activities, and practice designing and keeping different types of circles. Schedule is 9:00AM-4:00PM each day.

Join us for a School of Art & Design information session and learn more about Suffolk University's undergraduate programs in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Illustration and Interior Design. During the information session, you will learn about portfolio and admission requirements for School of Art & Design applicants as well as financial aid and job placement. There will be a tour of the gallery, studios and classrooms at the School of Art & Design followed by a student-led walking tour of the campus, so please wear comfortable shoes. Sign-up
11:00 AM - 11:50 AM Conversation/Pronunciation
Practice speaking in English in a supportive environment. Discuss topics of interest, learn new vocabulary and expressions, and gain confidence and improve fluency. Improve your ability to speak clearly and be understood. Work on intonation, stress, natural rhythm, and sounds that are hard to pronounce.

This workshop takes place in the Center for Learning and Academic Success on Fridays from 11:00-11:50pm.

Freedom & Religion in the Twenty First Century: A Panel Discussion

 Is religious freedom possible in a democratic society? How do religion and politics intersect? How did religious freedom emerge in America, and what are the possibilities for religious freedom in the Middle East?  Find out in this discussion among scholars of religion, freedom, and orthodoxy.

Panelists:
Anouar Majid, University of New England, is the author of Freedom & Orthodoxy, and A Call for Heresy:  Why Dissent is Vital to Islam and America.  Cornell West calls him “a towering Islamic intellectual";

George Kamel was
born in Egypt and moved to the United States in 2000.  He is a financial planner and a volunteer pastor with the Community Christian Fellowship (CCF) and leads the CCF Arabic ministries;

Ayal Jamal al-Din, Shi-ite cleric from Iraq, Founder of Iraq's Ahrar party;

Robert Allison, Suffolk University, teaches American Constitutional history and the ideas of the American Revolution.
