Improve your ability to speak clearly and be understood. Work on intonation, stress, natural rhythm, and sounds that are hard to pronounce.


This workshop will be held in the Center for Learning and Academic Success (Room 3060) 1:00-1:50 on Tuesdays.

Do you like volunteering and meeting new people? Whether you are just curious about service opportunities or already fully embrace service, the Corps is right for you! The Corps will meet during the academic year to help its members gain a deeper understanding of social justice issues, explore what service means to individuals and the greater community, and participate in service opportunities.

What to Do, When to Do It, and How Work not getting done? Social life suffering? Come explore concrete systems to feel more in control of your schedule!

This workshop takes place in the Center for Learning and Academic Success, library, 2nd level on Tuesday 11/12 at 1pm and 4pm
1:30 PM - 3:00 PM 1L Resume Writing Seminar
PCD Counselors will provide legal resume writing tips and will answer questions in a group setting. Highly recommended for students applying to the MLSC Government & Public Interest Program.  RSVP on Symplicity.

2:00 PM - 2:50 PM Grammar & Editing Skills
Brush up your knowledge of common problem areas of English grammar, such as tenses, prepositions, articles and overall sentence structure. Learn the logic behind English punctuation, especially the use of commas and periods. Practice finding and correcting errors in exercises, and in your own and other students’ writing.

This workshop will take place in the Center for Learning and Academic Success (room 3062) on Tuesdays from 2:00-2:50pm.
3:00 PM - 3:50 PM Writing Skills
Not sure how to make sense of your thoughts? Brush up on your writing skills! Skills addressed include thesis development, paragraph development, and essay structure.

3:15 PM - 7:30 PM Casa Nueva Vida
Casa Nueva Vida, a home that houses almost 50 people and aims to permanently pull families out of poverty, needs volunteers! Volunteers will help with the house's weekly chores and will assist the children of the home with their homework. Upon completion of homework, the volunteers will interact with the children during playtime in a meaningful and engaging way. Volunteers will meet in Donahue 209 and travel to the site together. This opportunity is open to the first 14 students who RSVP through SUconnect.

4:45 PM - 7:00 PM Tuesday Night Church of the Advent Supper Club
Help serve meals at the Church of the Advent to those in need. Meet at the S.O.U.L.S. Center, Donahue 209, at 4:45 pm. This opportunity is offered every other week and is limited to the first 3 volunteers who R.S.V.P. through SUconnect.
6:00 PM - 7:25 PM The Music Business Comes to Law School

A panel of musicians, music promoters, agents and disc jockeys visits Professor Jessica Silbey’s copyright classroom to talk with students about what makes their music happen. Topics of discussion will include: the relevance of DVDs; the vinyl comeback; music agents, music promoters and booking agents; digital downloads, internet radio and terrestrial radio; the work of a disk jockey; branding and authenticity in the music business; the craft of sound recording; law reform in the sound recording industry; the economics of cover songs; where does the money come from and where does it go?
