All Day Online Course Design Institute (Multi-Day Event)
Are you interested in designing an online, hybrid or technology-enhanced course?  If so, enroll in the 4-week Online CDI. The Online CDI is recommended for faculty who are preparing to teach a fully or partially online course, who are interested in learning about developing such a course, or who may already be teaching an online, hybrid or technology-enhanced course but would like to incorporate some additional research-based teaching and learning strategies. This interactive, online workshop has been designed to align with the Quality Matters rubric.  For more information, contact  ctse@suffolk.edu.
Register by Wednesday, October 3.
All Day Midterm Feedback Sessions (Multi-Day Event)
Collecting mid-semester feedback from students can help you identify teaching strengths and
potential chances to make before the end of the semester. The CTSE can support you in this
process: We'll schedule a time to visit your classroom to collect feedback (strengths and
suggestions) from your students. After compiling students' responses into a confidential report,
we'll meet with you to discuss the feedback and make a plan for how to move forward. This
method of instructional consultation has been shown to improve student ratings of faculty (Finelli,
2008) and to increase student motivation (Clark, 1982).
All Day Suffolk Inauguration, Alumni and Family Weekend (Multi-Day Event)

11:00 AM - 3:00 PM The Mirror Revealed: Stories Told

We are made of our stories.

Through their work, the six artists in this Suffolk University Gallery exhibit answer such questions as:

  • Why do we need stories as a species?
  • How do these stories in the form of myths, fairytales, and folktales reflect on our current cultural conditions, as they have for centuries? Why do these archetypes continue to resonate?
  • How do similar narratives cross cultures?
  • How do we tell these stories to ourselves?
  • How are our real lives and stories mingled with our online presences and relationships?

Participating artists:

Catriona Baker
Andrea Dezso
Anne Eder
Dan Estabrook
Cig Harvey
Terrasa Ulm
